Rostec Announces Entry of Su-57 Jets into Russian Military Service
According to a statement, one of Rostec’s subsidiaries, the United Aircraft Corporation, manufactured and delivered a large batch of Su-57 aircraft in a new technical configuration to the Russian Defense Ministry.
"The machines have received updated onboard systems and a weapons complex," the statement said. The aircraft completed a full cycle of factory trials before military pilots evaluated their performance in various operational modes.
Rostec head Sergey Chemezov said that aviation plants are consistently meeting production deadlines and upgrading equipment based on operational requirements.
"The Su-57 is a formidable weapon that has proven its effectiveness on the front line. It has many destroyed targets to its credit. The fifth-generation complex can be employed even in environments with the most advanced enemy air defense systems," Chemezov said.
He added, "Today, we have handed over to the army machines that have become even more powerful and dangerous."
The Su-57 jets are capable of executing a wide range of combat missions, including striking air, ground, and sea targets. They can operate continuously, even in adverse weather conditions and under electronic jamming. Their low observability allows them to remain effective against modern air defense systems.
